lyrics

I tried to fight the frost
with fire and I lost.
I thawed a lot of ice.
I thought I got it right,

but it's too damn cold
and my coals can't hold their own.
I'm over my head
in a bone dry riverbed.

Goodbye my friend.
I'll see you when winter ends
and the weather's warm enough to swim.

When the mountains send
their burden down
and turn
the river wide again.

'till then
I'll dream in my bed alone
of a stream in a bed of stone
stained black with ash and soot.
And I'll watch that thin line
as it bends and winds
until it finds its way
to the only home it knows.

And I'll try to fight the frost.
